The PBZ series is the bipolar type DC regulated
power source that can continuously change both +
and - polarities passing through 0 without changing
the output terminal.

 

While realizing drastic weight reduction by adopting the method of "Switching + Linear" system, it makes possible for the high speed operation with low noise. Since the operation covers 4 quadrants, the power can be supplied (source) and absorbed (sink), and also the inductive load or capacitive load can be driven. And it equips the signal generator function which enables to generate the waveform and setting the sequence. Furthermore, the synchronized operation which is required for the voltage variation of power source, and also for the expansion of large current application in master-slave parallel operation are possible.

The PCR-M Series is a small-size AC power supply with the ease of a variable auto transformer or an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) and the usefulness of a multifunctional AC power supply. As the PWM inverter method is adopted for the power unit, the PCR-M Series is much smaller and lighter than the predecessors while enabling high-quality and highly-efficient (about 70%) operation. This power supply comes with measurement functions, memory function, protection functions and various communication interface options, and it is even possible to provide DC power. The PCR-LA Series is the most advanced, with having polished multifunctional AC power supply device of our best selling AC power supply PCR-L Series. By adding new functions and options while carrying over the basic performance from former model, this Series is reborn as a safe and reliable model that is much easier to use.

  As the PCR-LA Series comes with not only the basic operating functions of the main body, but also has standard equipment of RS-232C and the dedicated remote control external interface (GPIB is optional), if you have a PC, you can use almost all of the functions of the PCR-LA Series. The remote controller (RC03-PCR-LA) is available for “abnormal power line simulation functions“, which is the most frequently used in power supply environment testing, it makes possible for you to perform the functions easily, and above all, at a low cost.
With the PCR-LA Series' high-quality basic performance and abundance in flexible expandability, apply to the anticipated fields of various applications, in the field of an electric, machinery and chemicals for such power supply environmental testing, immunity testing, or power amplification of the output waveform for arbitrary waveform signal generators.
     

   

PAS Series

     

The PAS Series consists of sophisticated variable-switching DC power supplies that refine and add to the advances of our conventional PAK-A Series. While the cabinet size remains unchanged from conventional models, the PAS Series incorporates a high-efficiency switching circuit and a power-factor correction circuit to meet the needs of today's users. Provided with Kikusui-developed digital communication functions (TP-BUS: Twist Pair Bus) as standard equipment, this Series can handle power supply systems ranging from small scale (two units) to large scale systems (up to 448 channels in combination with power supply controllers of the PIA4800 Series via GPIB) at low cost. The distance between the controller and power supplies can be extended up to 200 m for use in applications such as plant power supply control from the PC at office.

  The PWR Series offers constant voltage (CV)/constant current (CC) automatic crossover DC power supplies that enable you to combine a wide range of voltages and currents within the output power rating. For example, the model that has an output power rating of 1600W (PWR1600L) provides a seamless operation range from 80 V - 20 A to 16V - 100A. With a single PWR Series power supply alone, you can cover an extensive output range equivalent to what is provided by three to six conventional single range DC power supplies. L type can output up to 160% of the output current rating (in the continuous and intermittent extended operation areas). PWR1600L supports a maximum output of 10 V - 160 A.
     

   

PMR Series

     

The PMR Series is a multi-output, constant voltage/constant current regulated DC power supply with a dual-tracking function. It uses a Series regulator system to generate stable outputs with low noise. Moreover, it is compatible with various external controls. For GPIB control (in combination with an optionally available PIA4830), it is provided with the TP-BUS that allows a system to be built by simple connections. It can be widely used as a power supply for testing LCDs, PDPs, and other devices.

LED digital meter which is legible even in dimly lit location, and electronic switches which eliminate relay chattering, are also featured in this Series. The PAN-A Series is a high-performance, highly reliable DC power supply unit featuring regulated variable voltage. These units are suitable for use in a range of fields including research and development, quality control, and production. The PAN-A Series consists of a pre-regulator using FETs and a Series regulator using power transistors, providing the high-quality output characteristic of the latter as well as the low power-source harmonic distortion of choke input type phase control. To achieve the high reliability and safety, components of sufficient derating and long-proven mounting techniques are used throughout. All models are carefully designed and furnished with over voltage protection (OVP) and various safety functions.

     

   

PLZ-U Series

     

The current trend in semiconductors is towards lower voltages and higher speeds. This trend places similar demands on both the components of semiconductor power units, such as switching power supplies, batteries and DC/DC converters, and also on the electronic loads used for testing. Also, a growing number of users with a need for multiple-output power units and easy channel reconfiguration are calling for plug-in type electronic loads that can be easily configured to support multiple channels. The advent of an electronic load system that satisfies all these needs has been long awaited. It was against this background that we developed the PLZ-U Series of electronic loads.

The PLZ-U Series of compact and high-performance modular electronic loads is capable of operating in five modes: constant current, constant resistance, constant voltage, constant current + constant voltage, and constant resistance + constant voltage.

 

The load system consists of load modules and a frame. The load modules are inserted into the frame that also serves as a control unit. The PLZ-30F frame can accommodate up to three load modules, while the PLZ-50F frame can accommodate up to five. The load modules can be operated in parallel, so that the current capacity or power capacity can be changed easily, from 75 to 750 watts*1, as needed for the device under test. In addition to offering high-speed response at a maximum slew rate of 2.4 A/ µs*2 and a minimum setting resolution of 10 µ A*3, the system features a variety of functions including soft start, variable slew rate, a switching function, ABC preset memory function, four setup memories, and a sequence function. What's more, timer functions combined with time/voltage measurement functions allow you to measure battery discharge characteristics.

For communication, the system is provided with GPIB and RS-232C interfaces as standard. Both interfaces support IEEE 488.2 as well as the Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) commands, developed for testing and measuring instruments.

The PLZ-4W Series Electronic Load unit is a multifunctional system designed to offer the highest levels of reliability and safety with operation function of constant voltage, constant current, constant power and constant resistance mode. And its control unit comes with GPIB, RS232C and USB as standard equipment, available in 4 models.

A 0(Zero)V input operating voltage is available in model PLZ164WA which is suitable to meet the testing demands for the Fuel Cell, DC/DC converter, SW Power Supply, and any other devices required for the lower operating voltage application.
Furthermore, the PLZ-4W features high speed slew rate when switching, it can be used as simulating load for the characteristic, performance, life cycle, aging test in the field of application in Automobile electronics, SW Power Supply manufacturer, Secondary Battery.

The PIA4810 is a power supply controller capable of analog and digital control. It is equipped with the GPIB and RS-232C interfaces and 4 slots, which allow 4 each of PIA4800 Series-specific control boards to be installed. A control board is capable of analog control of 2 channels of DC power supplies or electronic loads; a total of 8 channels can be controlled.

Moreover, DC power supplies with a digital remote-control function, such as the Kikusui PAS, PAM(*1) and PMR Series, can be directly connected to the PIA4830 via a TP-BUS (twisted pair bus), enabling a system up to 32 channels to be controlled digitally.

 

PIA4820 is an expansion unit that can be connected to the PIA4810 or PIA4830 via a TP-BUS to provide additional control channels. In the same way as the PIA4810, it allows a maximum of 4 control boards to be installed.
Then it is possible to use up to 3 units of PIA4820 as an expansion that can be connected to the PIA4810 via the TP-BUS, the system is capable of controlling a maximum of 32 channels. Moreover, the combined use of the GPIB and TP-BUS allows the system to control a maximum of 448 channels.
PIA4830 is a power supply controller only for digital control. It is capable of digitally controlling a system up to 32 channels of such Kikusui PAS, PAM(*1) and PMR Series DC power supplies via the TP-BUS.
OP01-PIA and OP02-PIA are control boards designed exclusively for the PIA4810 and PIA4820.

A single control board is capable of analog control of 2 channels of DC power supplies or electronic loads. The OP01-PIA is a full-control board with voltage and current setting and read-back functions, while the OP02-PIA4800 has only the voltage and current setting feature.

The impedance meter KFM2005 is designed for testing of the fuel cell with the small current (5 A or less), and not only the current-voltage characteristic test, the KFM2005 can easily measure for the impedance of a fuel cell using the AC impedance method, and the Cole-Cole plot. Using the measurement data of the Cole-cole plot, it is possible to calculate the circuit constant of the approximate equivalent circuit of the fuel cell. The built-in DC load (60W) is capable to operate from 0 V, and it can perform the test for the fuel cell up to 20V and 5A.

     

   
KFM2030    
     

The impedance meter KFM2030 is intended to enable the impedance characteristics of a fuel cell to be measured easily through the use of the AC impedance measurement method.
Using the application software that comes with it, the meter can obtain impedance values at different frequencies by means of AC impedance measurement and display the obtained values in a Cole-Cole plot. With a low-power DC load (60 W) built in it, KFM2030 supports fuel cell load testing at up to 20 V, at up to 30 A.
